Sixth Sunday of Easter

"Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope." What is the reason for your hope? Our hope is Jesus Christ, who by His death and resurrection ransomed us and has won for us salvation and eternal life. Today, over 2000 years later, we are able to share our Hope, the Good News of Jesus Christ, because others have shared it with us. Since that first Easter, the Church has been caring for the people of God, spreading the message of Salvation into all the world and they have been dependent upon the lay faithful for support in this mission. This is the support of time, talent and treasure.

In today's world, there are still challenges and many of them are financial. We have priests who are retiring and insufficient funds to care for them, college students who are veering further and further away from the Church, growing needs in parishes and in Catholic education and all of this requires financial assistance. This is why Bishop Mulvey began the Legacy of Faith, Future of Hope Campaign, to care for the priest, to minister to the college students, to assist parishes and so on. The money raised in the this campaign is vital for the future of the Diocese and our ability to share our hope with others.

The Community of Our Lady of Guadalupe responded with overwhelming love and genersity through our campaign pledges, showing the entire diocese our commitment to the Future of Hope. However, as we are all aware, times are difficult and everyone has very real and immediate financial difficult concerns. Hope points to the future and we need your help to secure our future, for our children and for their children so that we may continue to minister to them until we are all reunited in our Heavenly Home. Please prayerfully consider renewing your commitment to your pledge. We started strong, let us finish so that all may see the enormous heart of the people of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Alice.
